Job summary

FedEx Freight is looking for a CDL holder to operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles or straight trucks, delivering between service centers or turn-point locations. You may perform non-driving duties like forklift operation and dock work.

Essential functions include inspections, logs, documentation, and adherence to hazmat rules. Applicants must meet DOT requirements and be able to lift and handle freight with equipment as needed.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Class A CDL or a commercial learning permit (CLP).
• Ability to perform basic math and communicate effectively.
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements and have a suitable MVR.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer or doubles/straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections.
• Hook up trailers and dollies to/from tractors.
• Maintain accurate daily logs.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Follow Dispatch instructions and communicate delays or issues.
• Comply with hazmat regulations and placarding as required.
• Provide internal and external customer service.
• Work as a city driver or freight handler as needed.
• Handle freight using forklift, pallet jack, or hand truck as required.
