Job summary

HDR is seeking a Drinking Water Market Sector Business Development Director (BDD) to lead development and execution of growth strategies across HDR geographies. You will work with Market Sector leadership, Regional leaders, client managers and practice groups to drive top-line growth and strategic initiatives in drinking water services.

Qualifications

• Minimum 20+ years of experience in drinking water planning, engineering design, client development, and project management.
• Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering.
• Maintain a professional engineering registration.
• Experienced in development and management of strategic positioning and technical differentiation for planning and/or engineering services.
• Experienced in development and management of a wide range of client relationships and specific program and/or project pursuits.
• Experienced in overall staff development to include recruiting, career path development, and professional growth.
• Experienced with industry associations and maintains an active involvement.

Responsibilities

• Incorporate HDR and Water vision across the market sector to become the industry leader.
• Serve as the Client Manager for selected key clients within the Sector and be active and visible in the industry.
• Serve as Pursuit Leader on select drinking water opportunities, leading by example in pursuit strategies, proposal development and interview preparation.
• Work with client managers to promote the marketing and delivery of HDR services to Drinking Water clients across geographies.
• Participate as a member of the Water Business Group Management and the National Drinking Water Market Sector Leadership Team to support international growth initiatives (Canada, UK, Australia).
• Work with Regional Business Group Managers and Client Development Leadership on MS initiatives.
• Provide direct support to selected pursuits through client relationship development and strategy development.
• Actively participate in industry associations in leadership roles and mentor staff.
• Identify investments to maintain HDR leadership in the industry.
• Coordinate marketing capabilities and market sector support to Areas toward booking goals.
• Develop relationships with industry counterparts and senior leadership of key clients.
