Job summary

Patterson-UTI Drilling Company, LLC is hiring a roughneck/roustabout to perform rig servicing, handle drill pipe, and assist with rig moves on a heavy drilling site.

This role requires outdoor, physical work on a 12.5-hour shift and a 14-on/14-off schedule, with strict safety adherence and teamwork. A stable work history and HS diploma are preferred, and travel to remote locations is expected.

Qualifications

• Six months of stable work history (minimum).
• Preferred: six months on a drilling rig or similar heavy industry site.
• One year of stable related work history (e.g., farming, ranching, construction) or military service.
• Must pass pre-employment testing and background checks and drug/alcohol tests as required by policy.
• Willing to travel on a 14 days on / 14 days off rotation, with 12.5-hour shifts.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs independently and climb stairs repeatedly.

Responsibilities

• Lift and place slips with assistance from another crew member.
• General upkeep of the rig and drilling floor; cleaning and housekeeping duties.
• Handle drill pipe with iron roughneck, slips, and tongs.
• Assist with rig moves and rig-down operations, and prepare new locations.
