Job summary

Patterson-UTI Drilling Company, LLC is hiring for a roughneck-like position in Fruita, CO. You will assist with rig operations, pipe handling, and housekeeping on a rotating 14 days on/14 off schedule, often working 12.5 hour shifts outdoors in varied weather.

Requires a high school diploma or GED, plus forklift and well-control certifications preferred; you must be able to lift, climb, and work at height with PPE. Per diem is available for this hourly role.

Qualifications

• One year of stable related work history (e.g., farming, construction or heavy equipment) or military service.
• Six months+ experience on a drilling rig for a contractor preferred.
• High school diploma or GED; forklift cert and well-control cert preferred.

Responsibilities

• Frequently lift and place slips with assistance, up to 150 pounds.
• Maintain rig and drilling floor housekeeping and equipment cleaning.
• Use iron roughneck, slips, and tongs to handle drill pipe sections.
• Participate in rig moves and rig-up/rig-down activities.
• Inspect and monitor safety equipment; wear PPE at all times.
• Assist with inspection, slipping, and cutting of drilling line.
