Job summary

Patterson-UTI Drilling is seeking a hands-on crew member for our remote rig sites in Colorado. The role involves heavy lifting, housekeeping, and assisting with rig moves and maintenance while following strict safety procedures.

The position requires English communication, ability to work long shifts in PPE, and readiness to travel to remote locations on a 14/14 rotation. Per diem eligibility is noted.

Qualifications

• One (1) year stable related work history (e.g. farming, ranching, construction, heavy equipment or other trade) or military service
• Willing to travel to and work in remote locations on a rotational schedule which consists of 14 days on / 14 days off, working 12.5 hour shifts that can include days or nights and as well as weekends and holidays
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods in steel-toed boots and PPE
• Demonstrate clear communication skills including ability to read, write and speak English
• Preferred: 6+ months experience on a rig-based position for drilling contractor
• Preferred: High School Diploma or GED
• Preferred: Forklift Certification
• Preferred: Valid Well Control Certification, IADC WellSHARP

Responsibilities

• Frequent heavy lifting (up to 150 pounds with assistance) and housekeeping duties on rig/drilling floor
• Operate and handle drill pipe sections using iron roughneck, slips and tongs
• Assist in rig moves and rig-up/rig-down, prepare new locations
• Inspect and maintain rig equipment, PPE and safety procedures
• Assist with inspection, slipping and cutting drilling line; hook up and tear out of flare and degasser lines
• Support Motorhand and Derrickhand with maintenance and operation of pumps, mud pits, shakers, and engines
• Follow safety protocols, wear PPE, and work around hazardous chemicals and loud equipment
• Collaborate with crew members; work independently during downtime and on-call hours
• Travel to remote sites on a 14/14 rotation; comply with schedule, overtime, and training requirements
• Participate in pre-employment testing and background checks as required
