Job summary

Patterson-UTI Drilling seeks crew members for rigorous field work on drilling rigs. You will perform experienced-heavy tasks, assist with rig moves, and ensure safety in a demanding industrial setting.

The job requires endurance, teamwork, and strict adherence to PPE and safety norms. Applicants must meet physical requirements, be willing to travel to remote locations on a 14-day-on/14-day-off rotation, and complete pre-employment testing.

Qualifications

• Six months of stable work history.
• Ability to stand and walk 3.5–12 hours in steel-toed boots.
• Comfortable working at heights (50 ft or more).
• Willing to travel to remote locations on a 14/14 schedule.
• Willing to undergo pre-employment drug/alcohol testing and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Lift and place slips weighing ~150 pounds with assistance.
• General upkeep of the rig and drilling floor, including cleaning and painting.
• Use iron roughneck, slips, and tongs to handle drill pipe.
• Assist in rig moves and prepare new locations.
• check rig/equipment for safety issues on an ongoing basis.
• Inspect safety equipment and PPE and replace as needed.
• Maintain awareness of surroundings in a heavy industrial environment.
• Support crew by supplying materials and assisting safety procedures.
