Job summary

Premier Health is seeking an ICD-10 Coder-DRG/APC Specialist for the Health Information Management team in Dayton, OH. The role supports inpatient and selected outpatient surgery/observation coding based on physician documentation, ensuring accurate DRG or APC assignment.

Qualified candidates will have an Associate Degree in Health Information Management, proof of an ICD-10 course, and RHIT/RHIA/CCS certification.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Health Information Management. Proof of ICD-10 course required.
• RHIT, RHIA, or CCS certification required.
• Minimum of one year inpatient or outpatient coding experience under PPS.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and data entry; proficient keyboard use.

Responsibilities

• Code and abstract inpatient visits and select outpatient procedures based on physician documentation.
• Collaborate with Clinical Documentation Specialists to ensure accurate documentation and DRG/APC assignments.
• Follow up on outstanding accounts for billing and ensure compliance with HIMS policies and Joint Commission standards.
