Job summary

NiSource is seeking a Drafter to create and revise 2D drawings for natural gas pipelines using AutoCAD, with ArcGIS data integration. You will collaborate with engineers and designers to translate project information into precise drawings supporting new and ongoing projects.

Drafter 1 requires 1 year of AutoCAD experience and a high school diploma; Drafter 2 requires 3 years and greater proficiency. Both levels require teamwork, strong communication, and the ability to pass a DOT drug screen.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist engineering: review project plans, specifications, and supporting documents to prepare accurate drawings.

• Prepare and revise 2D technical drawings and schematics in AutoCAD, including piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and isometrics.
• Maintain accurate records of drawing revisions and design changes.
• Complete assigned tasks independently, seeking guidance from designers and engineering teams as needed.
• Support engineering and operations teams during emergencies and other business needs, including emergency outage management and after-hours support as needed.
