Job summary

State of South Carolina seeks a Dorm Supervisor to oversee a floor of students in a dormitory setting under supervision. You’ll help students develop independence, safety, behavior, and accountability while supporting staff and families.

Responsibilities include supervising student behavior, documenting incidents, teaching personal hygiene and study habits, ensuring safety, and communicating with parents and staff about student welfare.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma, or GED, and three years of supervising children in caregiving.
• Preferred experience with special needs children or related education.
• May require various communication modalities depending on placement.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and monitors student behavior and location, enforcing the Student Code of Conduct.
• Teaches personal hygiene, independent living, study habits and responsible work habits.
• Ensures safety and security, reports unsafe conditions, and administers basic first aid.
• Leads leisure and cultural activities and communicates with parents and staff about welfare.
• Maintains documentation of discipline, behavior, and injuries per policies.
