State of South Carolina seeks a supervisor for student care in Spartanburg. The role focuses on overseeing student behavior, reporting incidents, and assisting with daily living skills, hygiene, and homework.

You will ensure safety, assist with dorm management, and support students in developing study habits and social skills. The position involves engaging in activities, communicating with parents and staff, and upholding department policies.

Formación

• Requires a High School Diploma, or equivalent GED, and three years of successful work experience providing supervision of children in a caregiving capacity.
• Prefer experience with special needs children who have developmental or sensory disabilities; or an Associate's Degree and one year of experience providing supervision of children in a caregiving capacity.
• This position may require communication modalities dependent upon employment placement.

Responsabilidades

• Supervises and monitors student behavior and location, including enforcement of the Student Code of Conduct.
• Documents and reports student discipline, behavior, and injury problems, following up to ensure appropriate and successful student outcomes per department policies and procedures.
• Teaches student good personal hygiene, appropriate behavior and independent living skills, assists with homework and dorm upkeep.
• Ensures safety and security of students, reports unsafe conditions, administers basic first aid, and evacuates students in emergencies.
• Supervises and participates in leisure and cultural activities, and communicates at an age-appropriate level; counsels students and helps solve problems.
• Communicates with parents and staff regularly regarding student needs and welfare; meets with parents to keep them updated.
