Job summary

CSL Vifor in McAllen, TX is seeking a donor processing technician to support pheresis procedures. You will prepare the donor, area and equipment, monitor the process, respond to alarms, and ensure accurate data recording in the donor information system.

Essential duties include machine setup, alerting supervisors to donor flow issues, maintaining a clean, safe work environment, following HSE and OSHA policies, and cross-training as needed. Bilingual skills may be required to meet business needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) months’ work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and the pheresis process, respond to alarms or signals during the process.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to any donor reactions during or after pheresis and notify staff as needed.
• Use the PDA to record incidents, machine alerts, alarms, volume variances, and donor adverse events.
• Link equipment and soft goods used in the pheresis process to the appropriate donor in the system.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system per SOPs.
• Understand policies tied to hyper immune programs where applicable.
• Maintain a clean, efficient work environment and ensure supplies are available; follow HSE and OSHA policies and promote safety.
• Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas to meet business needs.
• Bilingual skills may be required, at organizational discretion.
