Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three months’ work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area, and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and pheresis process and respond to alarms or signals.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain awareness of donor reactions and notify staff as needed.
• Record incidents during pheresis using a PDA.
• Link equipment and supplies to the appropriate donor in the system.
• Alert supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate donor data in the electronic donor information system.
• Follow health, safety, and OSHA policies; maintain a clean work environment.
• Maintain confidentiality of donor and center information.
• Cross-train in other areas as needed.
• Bilingual skills may be required, at discretion.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
