Job summary

CSL Vifor Knoxville seeks a donor pheresis support technician to prepare donors, areas and equipment for pheresis routines. You will monitor donors, handle alarms, and disconnect donors at the end of procedures, while ensuring accurate data entry and compliance with SOPs.

The role emphasizes safety, confidentiality, and readiness to assist in other departments as needed. Some roles may require bilingual abilities to support diverse donors and programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of three (3) months’ work experience in a medical or health provider environment or equivalent.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and pheresis process, respond to alarms or signals.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to donor reactions during/after pheresis and notify staff as needed.
• Use PDA to record incidents during pheresis (machine alerts, alarms, volume variances, adverse events).
• Link equipment and supplies to the appropriate donor in the system.
• Alert supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Record donor data accurately in the electronic donor information system per SOPs.
• Understand policies for hyper immune programs at the center if applicable.
• Maintain clean, efficient work environment and ensure supplies are available; follow HSE and OSHA policies.
• Maintain confidentiality of personnel, donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas as needed.
• Bilingual skills may be required to meet business needs.
• Perform job-related duties as assigned.
