Job summary

Goodwill of Greater Washington is seeking a Donation Attendant to greet donors, assist with unloading donations, and record items accurately. The role requires excellent customer service, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and adherence to safety procedures.

Responsibilities include sorting donations, maintaining a clean work area, and providing donor receipts. Prior warehouse or donor-focused experience is a plus. This position is on-site at multiple locations and supports community programming.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service experience.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend basic instruction in English for safety purposes and communication with management.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally with associates and customers.
• Ability to perform continuous walking, standing, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to operate manual and/or power equipment (depending on location).
• Maintains a clean, neat uniform and appearance.

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent customer service to all internal and external guests.
• Greets donors and safely unloading donations from vehicles.
• Accurately record donations.
• Sorts donated items into designated categories.
• Follows safety and security procedures and reports hazards to management.
• Keeps donation area clean and free of debris.
• Completes donor receipts and offers the donor a copy.
• Assists truck and driver helper in loading/unloading donations.
• Performs other duties as directed.
