Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) months experience in a clerical or customer service related position, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Greeting donors at the plasma collection center and conducting registration procedures to verify donor suitability for the plasma pheresis process.
• Assist qualified donors in completing the screening process per SOPs and perform health screening procedures (blood pressure, pulse, weight, temperature).
• Perform finger sticks to obtain hematocrit and total protein levels.
• Educate new donors on therapeutic products made from donated plasma and explain screening, tests, appointment system, center policies, and nutrition.
• Register applicants and transfer donors as needed after training.
• Answer telephone and direct callers to appropriate staff when needed.
• Monitor donor well-being during/after pheresis and notify staff of any reactions.
• Record donor data accurately in the electronic donor information management system.
• Understand hyperimmune programs policies when applicable.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment with supplies and follow HSE/OSHA policies.
• Maintain donor, personnel and center information confidentiality.
• May be cross-trained in other areas as needed.
• Bilingual skills may be required at organization’s discretion.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
