Job summary

Gift of Hope is seeking a dedicated coordinator to manage donor referrals, ensure confidential record handling, and coordinate logistics with hospitals and eye banks. You will support a high-volume environment while maintaining compassionate client service.

The role emphasizes medical terminology, accurate data collection, and cross-team communication to optimize organ, tissue, and eye donation processes.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a health- or science-related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to make sound clinical assessments in a high pressure environment.

Responsibilities

• Advance Gift of Hope's mission, vision, and core values: provide compassionate service and professional collaboration.
• Acquire and manage confidential records, and ensure information is protected per policy.
• Collect pre-screening information on donor-related calls and document per procedures.
• Evaluate referrals for donor eligibility and forward to eye banks as needed.
• Coordinate logistics for referrals and update stakeholders in a timely manner.
• Secure permission from coroner or medical examiner for tissue/eye recovery.
• Follow up with hospital staff on status of referrals.
• Complete competency evaluations as required.
