Job summary

Gift of Hope Organ & Tissue Donor Network seeks a skilled professional to evaluate hospital referrals for organ/tissue donation potential and maintain follow-up on referrals. The role involves approaching families for donation authorization, supporting families during the donation process, and educating hospital staff to maintain donation options across serving Illinois and northwest Indiana.

The position requires on-call duties, travel to multiple hospitals, and a strong emphasis on compassion,

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year in Allied Health or RN background.
• Knowledge of medical terminology required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate hospital referrals to determine organ/tissue donation eligibility.
• Maintain and follow up on referrals and coordinate with hospital teams.
• Collaborate with hospital staff to maximize donation opportunities.
• Counsel families through the donation process and obtain authorization when appropriate.
• Coordinate with Medical Director and ME/Coroner as needed.
