Job summary

Goodwill Industries of El Paso, Inc. is seeking a Donor Greeter at the Horizon City location to warmly welcome donors, assist with donations, and ensure a smooth intake process.

You will help unload donations, pre-sort items, and transfer goods to sorting areas while providing excellent customer service and issuing tax receipts. You\'ll work with a team to keep the donation area organized, follow Kaizen standards, and support individuals with disabilities or disadvantages as part of Goodwill\'s

Qualifications

• No experience required.
• Ability to give good customer service and be friendly and polite.
• Ability to make quick decisions regarding merchandise quality.
• Ability to read, write and speak English (preferred) and have a basic math aptitude.
• Ability to follow written or verbal instructions.
• Must be able to work flexible hours (including nights and weekends).
• Must be willing to transfer to other stores as requested.
• Ability to work with a minimum of supervision.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, co-workers, customers, donors, and persons receiving services.
• Ability to maintain a positive, friendly attitude and a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance.
• Ability to provide support services by working with disabled/disadvantaged persons and assisting in the rehabilitation process of Goodwill Industries of El Paso, Inc.

Responsibilities

• Greets, thanks, and assist donors with donations.
• Maintains high level of customer service meeting donors at their vehicle and assist in unloading merchandise. Offer tax receipt to every donor.
• Transfers merchandise to donation center.
• Greets donors within 10 seconds in a courteous manner; assist in unloading donations from vehicles, offer tax receipts and maintains accurate daily donor counts.
• Keeps the area observed by donors neat, clean, and well organized according to Kaizen procedures to ensure donors perceive that Goodwill values their donation and that we treat them with care.
• Hard goods pre-sorting using the established procedures (Kaizen); and places items into the designated material handling equipment.
• Place all textiles into the designated material handling equipment.
• Transfer material handling equipment full to the area to be sorted, graded, and hung.
• Always maintain the breakdown area in a neat and clean condition, to include trash handling as directed.
