Job summary

Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee, Inc. is seeking a Retail Donor Specialist - Materials Handler Associate in Gallatin, TN.

The role focuses on delivering an exceptional donor experience while safely receiving, handling, and moving donated merchandise through backroom operations. You will engage donors, assist with loading/unloading, operate forklifts and pallet jacks, and maintain a clean, safe backroom.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Previous experience in retail, donation intake, production, warehouse, or customer-facing roles is a plus.
• Ability to balance donor interactions with backroom responsibilities.
• Commitment to safety and following established procedures.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Greet donors, provide receipts, and ensure a positive donor experience at the donation site.
• Load, unload, and stage donated goods; move items safely within backroom operations.
• Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks as trained.
• Maintain clean, organized backroom and trailer areas to support daily workflow.
• Follow safety guidelines and report hazards to leadership.
