Job summary

Goodwill Houston is seeking staff at an Attended Donation Center to greet donors, process donations using the GRATIS method, and sort items into categories. You will also maintain donation records and issue receipts, while providing friendly customer service and encouraging future donations.

This role requires ability to lift up to 40 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally, with a willingness to perform related duties and keep the donation area organized and safe.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service experience is preferred.
• Ability to communicate and interact well with a variety of personality types.
• Retail sales experience is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule.
• Must have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Greet each donor to accept donations with a cheerful and pleasant disposition.
• Perform GRATIS when accepting donations: GREET, RECEIPT, ASSIST, THANK, INVITE, SORT.
• Provide excellent customer service, show appreciation to donors, and invite them to return.
• Collect donations using donation carts and sort into categories.
• Maintain accurate records of donations and issue completed donation receipts to donors.
• Ability to communicate with manager, Transportation Department, and leadership.
• Assist with keeping production supplies available, loading/unloading donations and equipment as needed.
• Assist with security and safety of team members and property.
• Perform necessary janitorial work and report incidents immediately.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.
