Job summary

The Chrysler Museum of Art in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Data Specialist to manage and optimize the museum’s constituent database, ensuring accuracy and enabling data-driven philanthropy.

In this role you will support prospect research, donor analytics, and reporting, while processing contributions within 24 hours and generating acknowledgements within 48 hours, contributing to fundraising strategies and stewardship efforts.

Qualifications

• Four years of database management experience, including data entry and reporting.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and web-based applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with diverse audiences.
• Ability to collaborate with staff, volunteers and external stakeholders.
• Self-motivated and capable of managing multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
• Excellent organizational skills and strict confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and optimize the constituent database for accuracy and use across the organization.
• Support prospect research, donor analytics, reporting, and data-driven insights.
• Process all contributions within 24 hours of deposit; generate acknowledgements within 48 hours.
• Deliver renewal notices and pledge reminders with high on-time completion.
• Prepare and deliver ad hoc database reports to support fundraising and operations.
• Partner with Finance to reconcile daily donations and ensure data integrity across systems.
