Job summary

Versiti Blood Research Institute is seeking a Donor Specialist who will perform phlebotomy, donor screening, and provide an exemplary donor experience in a collaborative team setting. You will engage donors with professionalism, handle automation where needed, and help maintain accurate records while adhering to all regulatory requirements.

You will join a team that values teamwork, safety, and quality care, supporting donors and colleagues across shifts including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Less than 1 year job-related experience; 1-3 years preferred.
• Knowledge of SOPs, safety rules and department manuals required.
• Basic mathematical aptitude and strong attention to detail required.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Performs donor screening (histories), mini-physical, and phlebotomy.
• Delivers a service-focused donor experience with professional interactions.
• May perform automation using Alyx and/or Trima; recruit donors for automation.
• Contributes to a positive team culture and supportive work environment.
• Maintains donor identification, equipment maintenance, and records as needed.
• Observes donors for reactions and provides care as needed.
• Rebooks donors for future donation appointments.
• Performs other duties as required and adheres to regulatory requirements.
