Job summary

CSL in Ocala, FL is seeking a Pheresis Technician to prepare donor areas and autopheresis equipment, and to monitor donors during the pheresis process. You will document incidents with a PDA, and ensure accurate donor data entry in the center's system.

The role requires a high school diploma and at least 3 months in a medical setting, with potential overtime. The position emphasizes safety, adherence to SOPs, HSE/OSHA policies, confidentiality, and flexibility to cross-train.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) months’ work experience in medical or health provider environment or equivalent.
• Basic math calculations required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and pheresis process and respond to alarms or signals.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to donor reactions and notify staff as needed.
• Use PDA to record incidents, machine alerts, volume variances and donor events.
• Link equipment and supplies to the appropriate donor in the system.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system.
• Understand policies related to hyper immune programs, if applicable.
• Maintain clean, safe work environment and ensure supplies are available; follow HSE/OSHA policies.
• Maintain confidentiality of personnel, donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas as needed.
• Bilingual skills may be required at organization’s discretion.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
