Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Houston, TX seeks a Medical Support Specialist to determine donor eligibility, assess reactions, and support center operations under physician guidance. You will also assist with vaccination programs, incident management, and environmental health and safety duties as needed.

The role requires healthcare licensure (EMT-B/A/I/P or RN/LPN/LVN) with current CPR/AED; two years in a clinical setting and FDA training completion are expected to ensure safe donor care and

Qualifications

• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.
• Must be licensed or certified in the state of responsibility (EMT-B, EMT-A, EMT-I, EMT-P, LPN/LVN, RN).
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, history, and screening.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical issues.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/ER as needed.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations.
