Job summary

Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia is hiring for a full-time position in a Goodwill retail store. The role focuses on maximizing efficiency, store appearance, and customer and associate satisfaction, including processing donations for the sales floor.

Essential duties cover quality checks of donations, sorting, tagging, and placing items on the sales floor. The job requires teamwork, flexibility, and adherence to safety and security procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred; combination with work experience considered.
• No previous experience required.
• Must pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Inspects donations and material quality to determine marketability as per Retail Operations Manual.
• Sorts raw material and categorizes for store use, salvage, or trash.
• Tags donated items according to Goodwill’s rotation system.
• Stands and hangs sorted goods for placement on the sales floor per productivity standards.
• Produces the required number of items daily according to standards.
• Adheres to uniform dress code as outlined in the Retail Operations Manual.
• Demonstrates an enthusiastic and positive attitude.
• Works as a team member in a fast-paced environment and handles multiple priorities.
• Cross-trains in multiple production and customer service positions.
• Adheres to Asset Protection control and compliance procedures.
• Communicates effectively with customers, peers and management.
• Follows the scheduled work hours.
• Handles the physical demands to accomplish daily tasks.
