Job summary

Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia is hiring a store associate to contribute to the organization's mission in a Goodwill retail store. You will maximize efficiency, store appearance, and customer and associate satisfaction, and process donations for placement on the sales floor.

Essential duties include inspecting donations, sorting materials, labeling items, stocking the floor, and meeting daily production standards. The role requires teamwork and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred. Will consider a combination of education and work experience.
• No previous experience required.
• The associate is not required to drive as part of their job duties.

Responsibilities

• Inspects donations and raw material for quality to determine marketability.
• Sorts raw material and categorizes for store use, salvage, trash.
• Stands and tags donated items according to rotation system.
• Stands and hangs sorted goods for placement on to retail sales floor.
• Produces appropriate number of items each day according to minimum standards.
• Adheres to uniform dress code standards.
• Demonstrates an enthusiastic and positive attitude.
• Able to work as a team member in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to be cross trained in multiple production and customer service positions.
• Adheres to Assets Protection control and compliance procedures.
• Able to communicate effectively with customers, peers and management.
• Adheres to work schedule.
• Able to handle the physical requirements to accomplish daily responsibilities.
