Job summary

Goodwill Industries Of Central Florida in Sanford, FL is seeking an entry-level Donations Processor to greet donors, process donations, and maintain a clean processing area. You will sort items, assist customers, and ensure merchandise is properly labeled and staged for sale.

Prior retail or stock handling experience is preferred, and a neat appearance with a name badge is expected. The role emphasizes friendly customer service, accurate donation receipts, and safe handling of merchandise.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of retail and/or stock handling.
• Ability to react calmly and respond to emergency situations.
• Ability to listen and follow directions.
• Ability to provide excellent customer service.
• Knowledge of textile articles as related to garment classification.

Responsibilities

• Greet each customer/donor with a courteous, friendly and professional attitude; provide prompt, efficient, and accurate customer/donor service at all times, issue donation receipts for articles donated; assist customers with lifting items in and out of their vehicles.
• Sort donations as they arrive into proper carts or bins and make proper determination as to the quality of donations.
• Sort, box and label hangers by type.
• Hang garments in a timely manner as to maintain prescribed production level; sort hang, and barb color of the week.
• Place and present all merchandise on appropriate racks in accordance with merchandising policies and procedures.
• Sort and price hard goods (wares).
• Rotate stock on a timely basis and in accordance with established procedures; bring stock to sales floor in a timely manner.
• Keep production area clean and safe.
• Maintain well groomed appearance and appropriate dress code including name badge and vest.
