Job summary

New England Donor Services (NEDS) seeks an experienced ICU/Trauma nurse or critical care professional to join as a Donation Coordinator. You will respond on-site to donor referrals, evaluate donors, manage donor care, and coordinate organ allocation and recovery.

The role requires educating hospital staff, obtaining family consent, and working with surgical teams across New England. Expect significant travel and orientation beginning January 2027.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years clinical experience/critical care experience and a Bachelor’s Degree preferred CPTC Certification a plus.
• Optimal candidates have critical care or trauma experience with medical/clinical credentials including experience managing complicated clinical event.

Responsibilities

• Respond on-site to organ donor referrals to provide clinical expertise in donor evaluation, donor management, organ allocation and organ recovery.
• Educate hospital staff on the donation process and obtain donor family consent for donation.
• Collaborate with multiple surgical and critical care teams to optimize organs for transplantation.
• Travel to hospitals throughout New England and participate in the Donation Academy orientation and ongoing trainings.
