Job summary

Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia is seeking a Donation Center Associate to assist customers with donated goods and ensure timely, accurate, and safe pre-sorting of donations. You will help customers unload, sort items, and maintain a clean work area while following safety and security procedures.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent) and may involve evenings and weekends. No prior experience is required, and the organization emphasizes equal opportunity

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred; combination of education and work experience will be considered.
• No previous experience required.
• No professional certifications required for this position.
• Associate must pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, efficient, and courteous service to all customers.
• Assist donors unloading their vehicle and help them unload donations without damaging the car.
• Accurately presort donations by category and label donations accordingly.
• Safely load trailers.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment for safety and efficiency.
• Ensure the security of company assets and report any security or theft concerns.
• Follow department policies and procedures.
• Communicate with supervisor about issues in the donation area and with customers.
• Adhere to dress code and personal hygiene standards to present a positive public image.
• Exercise sound judgment in interactions with customers and decisions affecting donors and Goodwill.
