Job summary

Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia is seeking a Donations Associate to assist customers with donated goods and perform safe pre-sorting of donations. You will ensure accurate labeling and help unload donations, while maintaining a clean, organized workspace.

You should be reliable, able to lift up to 50 pounds, and willing to work evenings and weekends. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, and a background check will be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred. Will consider a combination of education and work experience.
• No previous experience required.
• No professional certifications are required for this position.
• The associate is not required to drive as part of their job duties.
• The associate will be required to successfully pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, efficient, and courteous service to all customers, internal and external.
• Assist customers with donations by greeting donors and unloading their vehicle, taking care not to damage the car.
• Accurately presort donations by category and label donations accordingly.
• Safely, efficiently and accurately load trailers.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure a safe area for associates and customers.
• Ensure the security of company assets and report security or theft concerns.
• Know and adhere to department policies and procedures.
• Communicate directly with supervisor about donation area and customer issues.
• Set a positive public image by following the dress code and personal hygiene standards.
• Exercise sound judgment when dealing with customers.

Education
