Job summary

Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia is seeking a part-time employee to assist customers with donated goods at our Chester facility. You will help unload donations, pre-sort by category, and load trailers while maintaining a safe, clean work area.

The role requires a friendly, safety-minded individual who can work evenings/weekends and pass a background check. A HS diploma or GED is preferred, with no prior experience required and a willingness to learn.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred. Will consider a combination of education and work experience.
• No previous experience required.
• The associate is not required to drive as part of their job duties.
• The associate will be required to successfully pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, efficient, and courteous service to all customers, internal and external.
• Assist customers with donations by greeting every donor and helping unload their vehicle without damage to the car.
• Accurately presort donations by category and label donations accordingly.
• Safely, efficiently and accurately load trailers.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment for safety and efficiency.
• Ensure the security of company assets and report security or theft issues.
• Know and adhere to department policies and procedures.
• Communicate with supervisor regarding problems in the donation area and with customers.
• Present a positive image by following dress code and hygiene standards.
• Exercise sound judgment in interactions with customers to benefit both customers and Goodwill.
