Job summary

Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia is seeking a Donation Attendant Store Suffolk (Finance) to assist customers with donated goods and to perform timely, accurate pre-sorting of donations.

The role requires greeting donors, helping unload vehicles, presorting by category, loading trailers, maintaining a clean work area, and strictly following safety and security procedures. Evening/weekend hours may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• No previous experience required.
• No professional certifications are required.
• The associate is not required to drive as part of their job duties.
• The associate will be required to successfully pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, efficient, and courteous service to all customers, internal and external.
• Assist customers with their donations by greeting every donor and helping them unload their vehicle.
• Accurately presort donations by category and label donations accordingly.
• Safely, efficiently and accurately load trailers.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure a safe working area for associates and customers.
• Ensure the security of company assets and report security or theft concerns.
• Know and adhere to department policies and procedures.
• Communicate directly with supervisor regarding problems in the donation area and with customers.
• Set a positive public image by adhering to the dress code and personal hygiene standards.
• Exercise sound judgment when dealing with customers and decisions affecting them and Goodwill.
