Job summary

Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia is seeking a front-line associate to assist customers with donated goods and ensure safe pre-sorting. You will greet donors, help unload vehicles, and sort items by category while upholding safety standards.

This position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work evenings or weekends, and pass a criminal background check. High school diploma or GED is preferred; no prior experience is required.

Qualifications

• Provide prompt, efficient service to customers.
• Assist donors by unloading vehicles without damage.
• Accurately presort donations by category and label.
• Criminal background check required.
• The associate must lift up to 50 pounds with frequent lifting.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, efficient, and courteous service to all customers, internal and external.
• Assist customers with their donations by greeting every donor and assisting them in unloading their vehicle.
• Accurately presort donations by category and label donations accordingly.
• Safely, efficiently and accurately load trailers.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure safe working area for associates and customers.
• Ensure the security of company assets and report security or theft concerns.
• Know and adhere to department policies and procedures.
• Communicate directly and consistently with supervisor about donation area issues.
• Set a positive public image by adhering to dress code and personal hygiene standards.
• Exercise sound judgment when dealing with customers.
