Job summary

Goodwill of Greater Washington is seeking a donation attendant to support donors and maintain a welcoming donation area. You will greet donors, unload donations, and record items while upholding safety and cleanliness standards.

The role requires customer service skills, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and basic English communication. Prior warehouse or forklift experience is a plus, with opportunities to grow within the store team.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service experience.
• Ability to provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend basic instruction in English for safety purposes and communication with management.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally with associates and customers.
• Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, bending, lifting, kneeling and climbing for prolonged periods of time (up to 7 hours - per 8 hour shift).
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent customer service to all internal and external guests.
• Creates a welcoming atmosphere by greeting donors and safely unloading donations from vehicles.
• Accurately record donations.
• Assists truck and driver helper load/unload donations into company vehicles.
• Performs general housekeeping duties as needed.
• Completes donor receipts and offers the donor a copy.
• Sorts donated items into designated categories.
• Follows prescribed safety and security practices including reporting safety, security hazards and injuries to the General Manager, Store Manager, or Assistant Manager.
