Job summary

Goodwill-of-Greater-Washington- is seeking a part-time Donation Attendant to greet donors, unload and sort donations, and record donations accurately. You will ensure safety, operate equipment as needed, and maintain a clean donation area and uniform.

This role emphasizes customer service, teamwork, and compliance with safety procedures in a busy retail environment. Prior warehouse or loading experience is beneficial in this hands-on position.

Qualifications

• Required Qualifications: Previous customer service experience.
• Required Qualifications: Ability to read, write, and comprehend basic instruction in English for safety.
• Required Qualifications: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Preferred Qualifications: Six months of previous work experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent customer service to all internal and external guests.
• Creates a welcoming atmosphere by greeting donors and safely unloading donations from vehicles.
• Accurately record donations.
• Ability to independently lift up to a maximum of 50 pounds.
• Ability to safely operate manual and or power equipment (depending on location).
• Responsible for keeping donation area clean and free of debris.
• Completes donor receipts and offers the donor a copy.
• Sorts donated items into designated categories.
• Follows prescribed safety and security practices including reporting safety, security hazards and injuries to the General Manager, Store Manager, or Assistant Manager.
• Maintains a clean, neat uniform and appearance.
• Assists truck and driver helper load/unload donations into company vehicles.
• Perform general housekeeping duties as needed.
• Perform other duties as directed.
