Job summary

Goodwill Hammond is seeking a Donated Goods Manager to support store management in planning and overseeing merchandise processing operations, ensuring efficient workflows and a high-quality customer experience.

Reporting to the Store Manager, the role recruits, hires, trains, and supervises staff, monitors sales, payroll, and costs, maintains safety protocols, prevents shrink, and communicates issues with district leadership. Flexible travel to different job sites is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of two years of supervisory experience.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Experience with POS systems and retail software.
• Ability to pass background checks and travel to different job sites.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, train, and manage staff while ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Oversee and supervise all operational processes within the store, ensuring smooth day-to-day activities and efficient workflow across all departments.
• Regularly review and analyze store sales, payroll, and other operational expenses to ensure financial goals are met while maintaining cost control and profitability.
• Maintain a safe and secure work environment by enforcing safety protocols and proactively working to minimize internal theft and shoplifting.
• Communicate any operational issues, challenges, or observations to the Store Manager and District Manager, providing insight and recommendations for corrective actions or improvements, and collaborate to develop and implement action plans to resolve issues.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
