Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. seeks a Technical Account Manager (TAM) to be the strategic technical advisor to US Department of Defense customers.

You’ll build deep relationships, translate mission objectives into actionable cloud strategies, and lead architecture discussions, incident response, and risk identification to protect mission readiness. This role spans the full AWS portfolio, including compute, storage, databases, security and AI/ML.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI US Government Security Clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of equivalent technical work experience.
• 2+ years of technical engineering experience in cloud infrastructure, networks, security, or distributed software.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary technical advisor to a DoD customer portfolio and build trusted relationships with technical and executive stakeholders.
• Conduct proactive reviews and health assessments to identify risks and improve resilience.
• Lead incident management, coordinate cross-team resolution, and deliver root-cause analysis.
• Guide architecture decisions using the AWS Well-Architected Framework and security best practices.
• Develop and execute strategic cloud adoption roadmaps aligned to mission objectives.
• Collaborate with AWS service teams to influence product improvements based on customer needs.
• Communicate complex trade-offs clearly to engineering teams and senior decision-makers.
