Farmers is hiring a Document Specialist I to support inbound mail processing, scanning, and basic indexing across multiple business units. The role emphasizes accuracy, speed, and data integrity in a hybrid imaging environment.

The position requires a high school diploma and strong keyboarding, with less than one year of related experience preferred. It offers a stable daily schedule onsite at the Caledonia, MI location and opportunities for growth within Farmers’ document services team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Less than one year related work experience preferred.
• Strong keyboarding (35 wpm) and 10-key skills are required.
• Demonstrated analytical skills and attention to detail are essential.
• Flexibility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Proficient in English written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Performs mail preparation, sorting, scanning and basic indexing for inbound mail across up to 25 business units.
• Operates high-speed scanner and imaging software to transfer documents to digital form.
• Identifies index attributes (policy/agency numbers) to correctly identify document owners.
• Sorts, purges confidential documents and follows shredding procedures.
• Meets production standards set by leadership to maintain quality.
• Supports other duties as assigned.
