GXO Logistics, Inc. in North Carolina is seeking a Dockmaster to oversee the safe, efficient movement of trailers and coordinate dock activities in partnership with operations, transportation, safety, and customer teams.

This hands-on leadership role requires experience in warehouse or dock environments, the ability to follow safety protocols, and comfort working outdoors in all weather conditions. Full benefits and a rotating schedule are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating dock or yard activities in a fast-paced operation.
• Strong communication skills with daily customer-facing interactions.
• Ability to lead or coordinate a team and enforce safety procedures.
• Familiarity with dock equipment, trailer docking, and release procedures.
• Comfort working outdoors in varied weather and terrain.

Responsibilities

• Champion operation safety and support dock equipment as required.
• Coordinate trailer movements to support daily priorities.
• Manage trailer docking, release, and yard flow with knowledge of trailer anatomy.
• Monitor dock conditions and escalate unsafe situations.
• Partner with site operations, transportation, yard services, and customer teams daily.
• Communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure dock activities align with guidelines and safety standards.
• Support dock and yard organization following 7S standards.
• Conduct visual inspections and identify risks or delays.
• Use Office 365 and Google Suite to track activity and document issues.
• Provide coverage to site leadership and Lead peers as needed
