Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. in Leesburg, VA is seeking a Dockmaster for 2nd shift to supervise dock activities and coordinate trailer movements.

You’ll partner with operations, transportation, safety, and customer teams to ensure safe, efficient loading and unloading and maintain high levels of service. Qualifications include warehouse experience, knowledge of dock operations, and strong communication skills; familiarity with MS Office 365 and Google Suite is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in a warehouse, distribution, dock, yard or transportation environment.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate dock/yard activities in a fast-paced operation.
• Knowledge of trailer docking, release procedures and trailer anatomy.
• Ability to work outdoors and in varied weather conditions.
• Follow defined processes, safety standards and escalation protocols.
• Strong communication with internal/external stakeholders and customers.

Responsibilities

• Champion operation safety and support dock-related tools and equipment.
• Coordinate loading/unloading dock activities and trailer movements.
• Manage trailer docking, release and yard flow following safety standards.
• Monitor dock conditions and stop-work when unsafe conditions are identified.
• Collaborate with site operations, transportation, yard services and customer teams.
• Communicate professionally to maintain customer service mindset.
• Ensure dock activities align with process guidelines and 7S standards.
• Provide coverage and operational support to site leadership and peers.
