Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a Dockmaster in Lithia Springs, GA for 2nd shift (Mon-Thu, 4:00pm–2:00am). You will lead dock activities, coordinate trailer movements, and partner with operations, transportation, and customer teams to ensure safe, efficient dock operations.

This hands-on role requires weather resilience, strong communication, and adherence to safety standards while supporting site leadership and daily priorities.

Qualifications

• Experience in warehouse, distribution, dock, yard, or transportation environment.
• Ability to coordinate dock/yard activities in a fast-paced operation.
• Knowledge of trailer docking, release procedures, and trailer anatomy.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and varied terrain.
• Strong communication for daily customer-facing and cross-functional interactions.

Responsibilities

• Champion operation safety and support of dock equipment.
• Coordinate loading/unloading dock activities and trailer movements.
• Manage and sequence docking, release, and yard flow with safety and fleet standards.
• Monitor dock conditions and use stop-work authority when unsafe.
• Partner with site operations, transportation, and customer teams daily.
• Communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure dock activities align with guidelines, safety standards, and SWIs.
• Support dock/yard organization per 7S workplace standards.
• Perform regular visual inspections and identify risks or delays.
• Use Office 365 and Google Suite to track activity and document issues.
• Provide coverage and operational support to site leadership and leads.
