Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a 2nd shift Yard and Dock Coordinator to oversee dock activities and trailer movements in a fast-paced facility.

This hands-on leadership role partners with operations, transportation, safety, and customer teams to ensure safe, efficient, and timely trailer movement. Candidates should have warehouse or dock experience, knowledge of docking procedures, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a warehouse, distribution, dock, yard, or transportation-related environment.
• Ability to coordinate dock or yard activities in a fast-paced operation.
• Working knowledge of trailer docking, release procedures, and trailer anatomy.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and across varied terrain.
• Follow defined processes, safety standards and escalation protocols.
• Strong communication skills for daily customer-facing and cross-functional interactions.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and/or Google Suite applications.

Responsibilities

• Champion operation safety and support dock-related equipment as required.
• Serve as primary contact for loading/unloading dock activities and coordinate trailer movements.
• Manage sequencing of docking, release, and yard flow with safety standards in mind.
• Monitor dock conditions and exercise stop-work authority when unsafe; escalate as needed.
• Partner with site operations, transportation, yard services, and customer teams to prioritize tasks.
• Communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders and maintain customer-focus.
• Ensure dock activities align with guidelines and complete tasks to closure.
• Support dock and yard organization in line with 7S standards.
• Conduct visual inspections and identify risks or delays; document issues with tools.
• Use Office 365 and Google Suite to track activity and communicate updates.
• Provide coverage to site leadership and Lead peers as needed.
