Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. seeks a Yard and Dock Coordinator to oversee dock activities, trailers, and yard flow with a hands‑on leadership approach. The role partners with operations, transportation, safety, and customer teams to ensure safe, efficient, and timely trailer movements.

The position operates 3rd shift (11:00pm–7:30am) and requires comfort with outdoor work in varied weather. A strong focus on compliance, quality customer service, and operational discipline is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in warehouse/dock/yard environments is required.
• Ability to coordinate dock or yard activities in a fast-paced setting.
• Working knowledge of trailer docking, release procedures and trailer anatomy.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and varied terrain.
• Follow defined processes, safety standards, and escalation protocols.
• Strong communication for daily customer-facing and cross-functional interactions.

Responsibilities

• Champion operation safety and support dock equipment as needed.
• Serve as the primary contact for loading/unloading dock activities and trailer movements.
• Manage and sequence dock, release, and yard flow per priorities.
• Monitor dock conditions and stop-work when unsafe; escalate appropriately.
• Partner with site ops, transportation, yard services, and customer teams daily.
• Communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure dock activities align with guidelines and site SWIs, complete tasks.
• Support dock/yard organization in line with 7S standards.
• Perform regular inspections and identify risks or delays.
• Use Office 365/Google Suite to track activities and document issues.
• Provide coverage to site leadership and lead peers when needed.
