Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a Yard and Dock Coordinator to oversee dock activities, trailer movements, and yard flow with a strong emphasis on safety and efficiency.

You will coordinate with operations, transportation, safety, and customer teams to maintain a smooth daily schedule. The role requires hands-on leadership, outdoor work, and excellent communication, with a focus on adherence to safety protocols and process guidelines.

Qualifications

• Experience in a warehouse, distribution, dock, yard or transportation setting.
• Ability to coordinate dock or yard activities in a fast-paced operation.
• Knowledge of trailer docking, release procedures and trailer anatomy.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Strong adherence to safety standards and escalation protocols.
• Excellent communication for daily customer-facing and cross-functional interactions.
• Proficiency with MS Office 365 and Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Champion operation safety and support dock equipment as required.
• Act as primary contact for loading and unloading dock activities and coordinate trailer movements.
• Manage docking, release, and yard flow following safety standards.
• Monitor dock conditions and apply stop-work authority when needed.
• Collaborate with site operations, transportation, yard services, and customers.
• Communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure dock activities align with process guidelines and safety standards.
• Support dock and yard organization per 7S standards.
• Conduct regular visual inspections and identify risks or delays.
• Use MS Office 365 and Google Suite to track activity and document issues.
• Provide coverage and operational support to site leadership and peers.
