Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. is hiring a Dock Supervisor to oversee a shift in our service center. You will lead dock teams, ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance with DOT regulations while coordinating with leadership to meet daily objectives.

You’ll use OD’s systems to monitor freight movements and drive continuous improvement, training staff and enforcing safety standards across the operation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 2 years of operations experience, preferably in transportation.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of AS400, DYMS and BLU systems; solid MS Office skills.
• Knowledge of general DOT regulations; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor safety of employees daily.
• Oversee safe/loading/unloading processes.
• Teach safe lifting techniques as needed.
• Maintain shift housekeeping for safety and productivity.
• Manage dock staff, schedules, and attendance.
• Coordinate with Ops Manager to meet business goals.
• Provide operational analysis and improvement ideas.
• Deliver feedback on performance and productivity.
