Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. is seeking a Dock Supervisor to oversee daily dock operations, ensuring safety and efficiency across the freight network.

You will supervise dock staff, schedule shifts, and drive performance while using OD’s tech systems to monitor shipments and communicate with teams and customers. The role requires supervisory experience, strong communication skills, and knowledge of DOT and OSHA regulations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; some college preferred, Bachelor’s degree favored.
• 2 years of operations experience, preferably in transportation.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of AS400, DYMS, BLU, and MS Office beneficial.
• Good verbal and written communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and evaluate safety of each employee daily.
• Oversee safe and efficient loading/unloading throughout the shift.
• Supervise dock employees and manage shift schedules and staffing.
• Coordinate with Operations Manager/Service Center Manager to meet objectives.
• Maintain housekeeping and comply with safety, OSHA, and DOT regulations.
• Conduct daily shift meetings and provide performance feedback.
