Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking an on-site dock worker to move freight using forklifts and manual equipment, verify paperwork, and secure loads for trailer transfers. The role requires basic math, strong teamwork, and adherence to safety standards.

Hours vary by shift, with starting pay around the posted rate. The position offers exposure to a fast-paced, logistics-focused environment and opportunities for skill development in freight handling and documentation compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior warehousing, freight handling and/or forklift experience preferred.
• Experience with hostler/yard mule duties preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck to move freight.
• Verify documentation matches freight description (type, weight, hazmat).
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, or rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
