Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a dockworker to transport freight across the dock area to and from trailers for loading. The role uses forklift, pallet jack and hand truck to move freight while ensuring documentation matches freight details and securing loads inside trailers.

Applicants should be able to perform basic math, lift up to heavy freight and work in a fast-paced dock environment. Hours include a 1700-2200 shift; prior warehouse experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math.
• Prior warehousing or forklift experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transport freight across dock area to/from trailers for loading.
• Perform freight handling using forklift, pallet jack and hand truck.
• Verify documentation matches freight description and secure freight inside trailers.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight and verify required documentation.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed.
• Comply with laws/regulations and company policies.
