Job summary

Qualified candidates typically have a high school diploma, are 18+, with warehousing or forklift experience and basic math/communication skills. This role is on-site and involves variable hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Experience in warehousing or freight handling and/or forklift operations preferred.
• Hostler/yard mule duties experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift/carry hand freight and open trailer doors with modest lift.
• Previous dock/warehouse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transport freight across dock area to/from trailers for loading to trailers.
• Operate forklift, pallet jack and hand truck as needed.
• Verify documentation matches freight description.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps or rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations and company policies.
