Job summary

Roadrunner in Dallas, TX is seeking an Operations Supervisor to lead daily dock, freight, and terminal activities with precision, safety, and cost discipline. The role protects shipment integrity, optimizes load flow, and maintains consistency across linehaul and local delivery.

You will supervise frontline teams, drive safety and compliance, manage costs, and coordinate with linehaul contractors and internal partners to deliver reliable service and terminal profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field or combination of education and experience.
• Experience in transportation, LTL, warehouse, or service center operations preferred.
• Ability to supervise, train, and evaluate team members.
• Strong safety, compliance, and Hazmat handling knowledge; Hazmat certification preferred.
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain.
• Analytical skills to interpret operational and financial data.
• Proficiency with PC applications (email, spreadsheets, databases).
• Excellent written and verbal communication across levels.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily dock operations including load planning, freight handling, and linehaul coordination.
• Ensure freight is processed accurately with proper routing, documentation, and data entry.
• Maintain high standards for load quality, minimizing damages, OS&D incidents, and rehandling.
• Step into operational roles—including forklift operations—when needed to maintain continuity.
• Monitor daily operating costs and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and margin performance.
